Spain Brand Launches Website

La Marca España (Spain Brand) on Thursday launched their new website, seeking to enhance the country’s image and its historical, cultural and professional heritage.

Spain is the number one country in the world for performing most transplants per year, it is the second country with the highest number of properties on the Unesco World Heritage list, third for Biosphere Reserve declared natural areas, fourth for wind power generation, fifth country with most Michelin stars, elite athletes, 495 million Spanish speakers …

The Spanish economy is in crisis. However their history, their culture, their language, their professional assets or natural and artistic heritage, are not. It is precisely these values that the Spain Brand website wants to promote before the eyes of the world.

The Government’s high commissioner for the Spain Brand, Carlos Espinosa de los Monteros, presented the http://marcaespaña.gob.es website, which hopes to reach all corners of the globe with all that Spain has to offer. The aim is to improve the image of Spain, both within and beyond its borders, for “the benefit of the common good.” “In a global world, a good country image is an asset that serves to support the position of a State, politically, economically, culturally, socially, scientifically and technologically,” noted Espinosa de los Monteros.

Equipped with a colourful design, the website has over 3,000 links with access to specific information fields ranging from business activity to tourist information, and also aims to create links with all the Spanish who live abroad, and who can share the image of Spain in the countries they reside in. Diario Sur reported that at the moment there is only a Spanish version of the website but in the coming days they will launch another in English, and for the future it is also planned to translate the website into other languages, such as Chinese and German.
