Christmas Holiday Rental Demand up 59% on the Costa del Sol

christmas-ballsThe demand for holiday rental accommodation for Christmas grew by 59% on the Costa del Sol and 57% on the Valencian Costa Blanca, according to holiday rental portal, Homelidays.es.

According to the company’s data, each year more and more Spanish choose to rent a holiday home at Christmas and this year they have registered a 1% increase in enquiries for accommodation over this period.

As well as the Costa del Sol and the Costa Blanca, the Spanish also favour the Canary Islands at Christmas, where demand for accommodation in Fuerteventura grew by 41%, Gran Canaria by 31%, and Tenerife by 13%.

Likewise, Diario Sur reported that the number of tourists choosing accommodation in ski destinations has also increased, with enquiries for Granada rising by 49% compared with the same dates in 2012, while Lerida enquiries rose by 5%.

In addition, for destinations abroad, Paris is one of the most popular choices for the Spanish at Christmas, with 8% more requests for accommodation there being recorded than in the same period a year earlier, while enquiries for accommodation in New York increased by 26%.
