Spanish housing ministry figures show that average house prices continued to rise overt the third quarter of 2004, although at a slightly slower rate. Newly-built houses or those less that a year old have increased by 16.72 per cent. overt the year ending in September, wile houses between one and 10 years old increased by 17.83 per cent. The biggest annual increase was seen in houses between 11 and 20 years-old; prices of these increased by 18.53 per cent.
some areas of Asturias and Navarra, saw prices fall, whereas price rises in other areas reached as high as 29.6 per cent in Valencia. Price increases in Malaya province were nearly as high, averaging 28.82 per cent.
The housing ministry predicts much lower increases during 2005, they think price rises will moderate to no more than 10 per cent.
